symbol of support, cooperation and encouragement
From the expression “Woforo dua pa a, na yepia wo” meaning “When you climb a good tree, you are given a push”. More metaphorically, it means that when you work for a good cause, you will get support.

Project: Quilts for St. Joseph's Hospital, Pediatric Unit, Paterson, NJ  20 - Present
Committee Chair: Bernice Paschal
Need: Provide blankets for pediatric unit. 
Action: Make quilts / blankets for pediatric hospital patients. 
Project: Angels Babies Matter Network Inc.: Houston, Texas March 2024
​Donated: 47 Baby Angel Quilts

Past Projects


2016:  Quilts for Pulse Orlando Victims. 
Committee Chairs: ​Juandamarie Gikandi and Bernice Paschal.
Need: Provide quilts for victims, survivor families, and first responders of Pulse Orlando  
Action: Collaborated with Montclair Historical  Society and Trinity Presbyterian Church  to make a  group heart quilt. ​
2016: Reusable Sanitary Pads.
Commitee Chair: Willye Calhoun.
​Need: Increase girls ability to attend school during their monthly menstruation  by providing feminine hygiene products. Action: Sewed reusable sanitary pads and  provided underwear or the  Insuguluni School in Kibwezi, Makueni County, Kenya. 
2015: Montclair Historical Society, Montclair, NJ:  Quilting demonstrations/hands on activities
December 2014:  NJ Performing Arts Center, Newark, NJ: Family Day Quilt Activities. 
2013: Montclair Historical Society, Montclair, NJ: Quilting demonstrations/hands on activities
2011: Montclair Historical Society, Montclair, NJ: Quilting demonstrations/hands on activities
2010: Newark Museum, Newark, NJ: 100th Anniversary Quilt Project and 100 Hour Marathon. 
2009: Montclair Historical Society, Montclair, NJ: Quilting demonstrations/hands on activities.
2008 : Vote Quilt, Montclair, NJ: Coordinator of VOTE Quilt Project Commissioned by State Senator Nia H.Gill.
